The AS Gender and Sexuality Equity Center’s annual spring production of award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.

This year the play is directed by local theater veterans Erin A. Tarabini and Cat Campbell. As fans of Eve Ensler and the Vagina Monologues, Cat and Erin are very excited to be working on this year’s production. They hope to put their own spin on a fan favorite and look forward to seeing the cast’s hard work pay off! The Vagina Monologues is performed by local Chico actresses.

This event is put on by the staff at The GSEC, which is an expansion of the Women’s Center as part of our efforts to promote human rights and the equal representation of marginalized students on Chico State’s campus. The GSEC provides a secure and identifiable space for students to collaborate, plan events, voice concerns and connect with the university while striving toward common goals of promoting equal rights and representation in our community.
